Absolutely incredible and rare find. This petite handmade booklet consists of seventeen pages of pressed seaweed specimens from the 19th century which remain and have left colored imprints as well in some cases. One particularly stunning page reads “Cape Cod, August 1871”.
The book cover is made from two natural scallop shells in shades of cream, taupe, and brown and is tied together with a gorgeously faded coral colored ribbon. This is truly a rare and stunning discovery.
Measures approx. 3” x 3.25” across.
Due to all pieces’ antique/vintage nature, minor imperfections may be present which reflect age and enhance character.
